I was quite heavy handed with my application. I went ahead a purchased the large sizes of the jam and Leave in conditioner.? OH Yeah... The scent is great, too. Hello! I just received my sample of Coil Jam and Satin Roots and OMG! I have 4 b/c (heavy on the c) and it worked perfectly. I've tried the most to the least expensive products? and they all failed. I say purchase the samples to see if it works for you. I'm so happy that I can now do a wash n go after being natural for 18 months. HTH

No I haven't used a regular rinse out in quite a few months. The only time I use a rinse out is if I am going to co-wash? which isn't a lot any more. When i do use a rinse out is is the V05 Moisture Milks conditioner but I don't use it often.

I really wasn't expecting to get more than 2 days from it so when I got 3 days out of I was surprised because the hold is very light. It is good for people that don't want hard or firm hold & crunch. As long as you keep your hair moisturized under the braids, don't leave them in for more than 3 months you should be fine. Leaving them in to long could cause breakage so make sure you stick to a schedule as far as maintenance goes. Try and tie it? up at night also.

If you want a professional flat iron and you are ok with spending around $140 I would highly recommend the Karmin G3 Salon Pro, it heats up to 450f with temperature control, dual voltage, tourmaline ceramic plates with rounded edges which makes it great for also curling your hair. Also has a 3 year warranty. If you do look at other irons make sure to stay away from irons with painted plates (colored plates) these can damage your? hair. I hope this helps.

You can use amala to tighen your curls when using? henna. Also, Nupur 9 is a great body art henna that I have been using for 6 months and I use it with indigo that I purchase from Mehandi.com. Mehandi does not sell Nupur9, I purchase it from my local Indian store. The henna may have been the problem and not the indigo. Overall, you know your hair :-)

LOL at the very end I said I blow dried it. I usually set my hair on super large rollers and? let it air dry them flat iron it but was too lazy so I blow dried it out then flat ironed it. I wrap it up at night and put a satin scarf on and in the morning I comb it out and style it. Each night I put a little Jamaican black castor oil on it and then wrap it but not to much because it can get greasy and heavy.

Wait a minute.....U didnt say anything about blow drying. U said u washed it, dried it, put silk elements and then flatironed. Can you please clarify because when i wash my hair I have to wait until the next day to flat iron. I have to braid it up and let it stretch out, otherwise it reverts back to? a fro in 0-60. This was very helpful b/c I had concerns about the Indigo. I heard that other ingredients are added to Indigo to make it black. And those added ingredients can be harmful. ? When I was in beauty school we were just instructed to stay away from Henna. So the natural Henna seems to be ok, it's just the Indigo and non pure hennas that can be harmful. My sis has a relaxer and she uses the "Black Henna"(which is Indigo) with no problems. But I'm not taking any chances. I may try Henna. You...

I am so fortunate that I found a local Indian Store. I buy the Hesh brand and it works great! The henna is 3.99 a box (same size as the Jamilla box0 and I also buy the alma and other powders for 2.99. I mix the henna with a bit of amla powder and i use any type of tea that I have on hand. So far earl grey works the best..crazy, but I LOVE the smell of henna!!!! It smells like outside in the grass to me! ? I have never used indigo ..good vid..stay blessed

Your hair has grown tremendously and is gorgeous. If and when you do decide to use Henna again may I suggest that you mix it with Hibiscus-Tea and Fenugreek (Methi), due to their moisturizing properties. I love Henna;? How can hot water dry the hair out when you put the hot water in the henna the henna then has to sit from 2-12 hours for the dye release, by? the time you put it on your hair it is cooled way down to room temperature so the temp shouldn't effect your hair because of that. Actually the acid on the lemon makes it dry the hair out on some because of how much acid is in it. I know some that can use lemon and got great results like you did but the water thing makes no sense, LOL.

It must be the way the camera and light is showing my hair because I love this way more because it looks more natural than when I use the other gels but that is why there is a market for all the different gels because each person may want something different. Parabens are preservatives but some studies have been done that could possibly be linking the parabens to cancer. There are studies that say no way and others say yes so to be on the safe side I stay away from them when I? can. I suggest getting a good leave in conditioner & moisturizer or butter and sealing your ends with an oil that won't penetrate the hair shaft too fast like coconut oil.

This twist out was very frizzy to me but to keep it from frizzing I usually make sure it is really moisturized and use a product with a nice hold. This product didn't have a? lot of hold at al so it frizzed out really bad by the end of the night. Very soft hold.

That is when you wash your hair with conditioner instead of shampoo. I shampoo once a week but if I need to refresh my hair? and clean my scalp from sweat or debris in between my shampoo days I do co-wash. That get's rid of the sweat and impurities. I don't do it all the time, just when I need to.

Thanks so much! That did work. Checking to make sure the majority of the ingredients matched each other, I mixed all my conditioners that didn't work well by themselves for me. I created a FANTASTIC? conditioner from them...problem is, I used about 7 conditioners to get the result! LOL! Thanks again, that helped a lot!

You could absolutely wear this to work without the flashy clips. Small earrings by day, danglers at night. You could even part this in the front on? the side and swoop the hair to its side and pin up in the back or let it hang. I luv this CKC. I have mine in bigger twist right now but out of my face for this heat we've been having. You are probably allergic to something in it. Did you contact Ayanna, the owner and talk to her about this. It could be the silver citrate or the citric acid since there are a few people who have a? sensitivity to these ingredients. It could be one thing your scalp just doesn't agree with. Girl I am so upset. After using the Donna Marie Miracurl I had to throw it out. Why you may ask.... it made my hair FALL OUT. The only thign different from my hair regime was the Miracurl and after a month of using it so much of? my hair fell out that I had to stop using it. I hope my hair grow back soon because I have no edges and the back is oh so gone.

Ooh girl I can't thank you enough!! Yes she is great! I got opened the sample of the aloe fix and compared it to the one form Curl mart and behold it was 2 separate consistencies. Curl mart was thick & white, and the one directly from Marsha semi clear with a smooth consistency. So she is sending me a? new jar directly and will be dealing with Curl Mart on her own. I would never EVER use Honey Butta with? Eco Styler...Eco clumps up all the time for me anyway. Also, she suggest the Butta for higher porosity hair, and I know mine is low, so this works best for a braid out for me so the product has time to absorb.

There is not a name for it really. It is a layered cut but the layers are only cut along the bottom? and sides and back, The top is left alone to fall on top of the layers on the bottom. This gives a lot of volume around the middle of the head. I don't go to a slon for this cut, I cut it myself cause I don't trust any body else with my hair, LOL.

I would definitely return those to CurlMart if you can. Unfortunately they stockpile some of the products and I definitely think you got an old or poorly stored batch because of that. I remember about a year ago I ordered some Curl Junkie products ( the coffee coco cream, the hibiscus honey butta leave in, and the deep conditioner) from them and the consistency and scents did not match at all.? I was told not to order it from CurlMart.

We have similar hair textures and I had the same issues? with Curl Junkie, even on the sections that are silkier, the conditioners didn't penetrate or provide any slip for detangling. My Aloe Fix Gel looks a little different than yours, more gel like, more translucent, but still didn't do anything to impress me. And I was really excited about it! :( But thanks for validating my reaction, and I'm soo looking forward to you new products cuz whatever works for your hair always works for mine!

hmmm... the name "scrunch set" comes to mind for some reason. it has the look of washing and scrunching but it lasts for several days? so it's a "set". or maybe the "Wet and Set". I could pull off a wash and go the year I BC'd but now, at my length my wash and gos look crazy with all the different textures on my head. I think i'll revisit it this summer using this method.

The eco is a very stiff gel that can get super hard depending on your hair. The gell itself is a 10 which is the hardest hold. I would try using the clear one or the pink one that has a much lighter hold and use some heavier oils under the gel? as well to help with frizz and crunch.

Banding your hair at night keeps your hair from getting flat and matted down as you sleep.? Most of the time I just wear it free, don't like bands and stuff plus I like it big! I used ot use Eco when I was relaxed to slick my edges but that was about it, it won't curl straight hair because there has to be some sort of curl in the hair already.

Once the hair dries, if you re-wet it it will eventually absorb water and swell or get bigger and fluffier so you will just have to redo your hair sooner if you don't like that look. As each day goes by the? hair will swell a little more so by the end of the week it is much bigger than when you started out. So if you don't like that look just redo your hair before it get's to that point.

I did this with the exact same gel.....and the results were gorgeous! It really defined my? curl pattern BUT It got flakier and flakier as the days went by. I hate I had to wash it out. I got soooo many compliments from it too. I used creme of nature leavin conditioner on it daily and it softened it too, so hair wasn't hard and dry, but the flakes were ridiculous!

What is MCG?? and i tried to use the eco gel and shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie, to define my curls, and get that curly look, and it did not work at all...no curls in my hair...i ended up twistin it...How do you find out your hair texture, bc mines must? be completely wrong for the eco gel and curl smoothie...Should i try the KCCC??

I have been using kinky curly for 3 months now and I don't think I like it. As soon as the product runs out I will try something else. At 1st I liked the look it gave but as it gets winter and if you are busy one morning, you really don't have time to wet your hair every day and deal with allowing it to? dry. it could take all day. In addition I think it makes my hair dry and hard. I have done it like every tutorial I can find & I think it is not for my tightly coiled hair. I need more moisture.

I really enjoy your tutorials. I learn so much!!!! I've used KCCC and can get 3 and 4 days from it. My hair is shorter than yours but definitely 4b or c. I use water not much in the morning, I don't shake because I get a headache,? I use my fingers to pull a few curls which were flat but other than that..................no problem. If you use too much product and put water on it and will look white all day and "gunky" in some spots. You need to rake it thru with your fingers when you apply

After all the hoopla about KCC prices I find that most of those products KCC, Miracurl, Uncle FUnky's Daughter If you woudl add the shipping you end up paying the same exact amount as the KCC. So I have three products in my closet all the ones listed above and yet Ecostyler works so much better than any of them at a fraction of the price. And I can wear my hair? four days without wetting:)

Yes, when my hair was shorter? it held like nobodies business but I also had to rewet it daily. It works great if you rewet, but the whole thing is I don't want to have to do that. So refreshing without rewetting doesn't work for me with the KCCC.

Believe me when I tell you, the Knot Today does nothing for curl definition, it a leave in mainly for moisture under the KCCC, it has no hold so it isn't going to make the KCCC? hold any better. I have tried it, I actually sold the Knot Today on the swap board because I realized it didn't make a difference.
