Hello, when are children slaughtered? It is only the Catholic? Church which forbids abortion in any form. Nowhere does the Church slaughter anyone, much less children. Our Lord Jesus Christ died of His own free will for our sins to satisfy His Father's justice and to save us from Hell.

I don't love torture. I love God. And you love the devil. I, by the grace of God, will spend an eternity in happiness. I wish that for you also. You may? call me names, you may vilify the less than honest translations of the Bible but I will tell you that the Bible was translated by St. Jerome and the only "less than honest translations" come from the Protestant sects who did not like what was in the Bible. Our Lord used Gehenna as an example. Of course it is a valley.

Actually Hell is mentioned in the Bible literally ZERO times, at least honest translations such as Young's Literal Translation. Less honest translations inserted the pagan Nordic goddess of the underworld, Hell, into the Bible. Gehenna is a valley, where? fires burned trash, and had political and cultural connotations that you're evading, just so you can believe in your most dearly held fantasty: Torture. You love torture, and are an evil person.

What he did not reveal was that THE sacrifice,? and the only sacrifice that would be propitiatory for man's sins, would be the sacrifice of God's only Son, offered willingly and out of an abundance of love for His Father and for us. As long as? there have been people, there has existed desire to sacrifice oneself for the common good. I admit, it is seen all too rarely now, but nobility still exists in some hearts. Somebody else's suffering to "atone" for whatever somebody else did wrong is a psychopathic idea. Sacrifice religions are unknown before agriculture. Because of agriculture's fragility, humans had to endure famines, and sacrificed their children to? the gods to make it rain. The evidence is all over the Levant. The pagan story of the sacrifice of the virgin firstborn son Jesus is just a carry-over from earlier horrors.

Cutting off your hand would do no one any good and surely not save anyone's soul. However, with Our Lord it was different. He is God. He was born to suffer and die for our sins which had cut us off from any possibility of gaining Heaven. He did this? willingly and also out of obedience to His Father. He did this to show His love for us and to gain our love in return. We owe Him everything. We owe His mother everything. They suffered untold pain for our sins. Pray and ask God for Faith.

It is interesting that you use the words "good" and "Hellish". That tells me that you have some idea of the existence of Hell. Hell is, in fact referred to more times than Heaven in the various versions of the Bible. My son has? read the scriptures in their original language and he informs me that the word "?????" (Hades) is indeed several times used. Our Lord Himself used the term "fires of Gehenna" to illustrate the place of torture that the wicked and unbelieving would have to spend eternity.
