Sounds a little like my cabin...Taking care of 2 homes really is not hard to do. My statue appears very feminine, with soft cheeks and the signature hair bun atop the head. But it has a male chest. That's what led me to research the history of Kwan Yin. That's how I discovered the earlier male gender - Avalokitesvara/Guan Yin. It is awesome to me to know that Kwan Yin is both genders and yet neither. To me, it means she has no special regard to a certain gender and? by extension no special elite, if that makes sense.

I am not sure I know the answer to that. I would think, though, that they would remain the same. We use them in the States, and the prevailing winds are certainly different than they are in England. I've found over the years that some of their attributes have changed to? match the nature of the Winds where I am. But the names have remained the same. It's the same with the Quarters. I've kept the correspondences of my early years, but honor that there are differences in them where I live.

Very interesting - where I live, however, with the exception of the North wind, the prevailing winds are not from the cadinal directions, but are rather the Northwest, the Northeast and the Southeast. Geese can be extremely bold, ornery creatures. Flying animals are already connected strongly with otherworlds, but you know that. What better than a Canadian goose to guide you to? and from worlds you have no experiences of. Geese make journeys just like this every year from the north to the south and back completely on instinct. They know when to go and when to leave by instinct and it is the most natural thing to them. Mercury retrograde doesn't effect me - it never has. And I've always explained it to friends who always ask me as that I have firmly grounded? and centered myself so that I don't "allow" the energies to blow me over. Agreed to everything you said (esp. about being carried away by things). We're all sensitive to different things in different ways. I'm really sensitive to other people emotions but I find that the changes in the cosmos/moon/retrograde? don't affect me much. They are a great way of blaming something other than myself for my flakiness/mistakes during that time though! :D

I completely understand the pragmatic marking of? territory. I am so deeply and primally affected by the moon phases that I have created items and developed techniques to "shield" myself from the low energy feel of the dark moon. I have also gotten into the habit of scheduling project completion in line with the moon phases so that I will be sure to have enough energy. Last dark moon I had my first "ordeal" experience. I don't think Shadow Work can be addressed appropriately in a video or a cyber conversation. I suggest those interested in pursuing it (and I believe we all need to) research The Shadow and Jungian psychology. One can educate one's self in taking the journey, and there is a lot of good information on the psychological aspect of it. If willing to put the work into it, there is so much you can learn by studying the psychology of? it.

I had wondered why? pendants of the worldtree surrounded by the witches alphabet were so popular. Your explanation of the three worlds as the parts of the tree makes a lot of sense. I have learned so? much from videos here on YouTube. I have always been a solitary so it has been exciting to learn about other's practice and experiences with spirituality. I also use an iPad so I don't see the advertisements, but I have heard they have been becoming more obtrusive. I don't mind the ads so much, as? I can understand that it's a way for Google/YouTube to make enough money to keep the site up for free (I'm rationalizing here btw, LOL). What bugs me is that the ads don't reflect the people who's vids they are on, and they appear to be random. That's why I don't want to monetize my vids - I would rather have the individuals on YT that are selling their own goods be able to advertize thru my vids. :)

Its not a case of making any money the adverts are on most videos even if we are not being paid for it. I understand that the adverts may pay to keep this place free for us but when it is directly on our personal work without our consent I have a problem with it. There are enough of the annoying flashy adverts to ignore on the site.It doesn't seem to matter what any of? us like to this company as long as they get their all mighty buck. Perhaps a good (funny) supplimental reading assignment for this topic would be "American gods" By Neil Gaiman. It's the story of the new gods and the ancient gods coming together in a kind of Battle Royal. It's wonderful and creepy. It sounds like your training in was very indepth and fullfilling.

While I don't think of deities as purely metaphors or archetypes I do believe that these archetypes are an important aspect of deity and many of the modern fictional creations can serve as versions of these archetypes. And in as much as some of these fictional depictions do? mirror ancient deities I think they can be useful in spiritual practice.

No, that is not what I was saying at all. Sorry I will clarify. Elbereth, Tolkien's Elvish Goddess has many aspects that are like Danu's and Hathor's but of course Elbereth was created for a fictional culture. The same with Eywa, being an All-Mother figure. I hope that clarifies. I was saying that the "new gods" are often formed for fictional cultures, but they? do have many aspects of ancient deities. Not that ancient deities are fictional in any way.

Thank you for the wonderful video Anni! I've never heard anyone define gods and godesses as a way to humanize the mystery, and have a relationship with it. That has helped me find a place in my path now because I never believe in gods or goddesses in the traditional sense as "the creator(s), sentient, and/or separate from us." Strange it may be, but I used a virtual world called second life to create my "god" as an avatar. It's interesting. I believe in old times the "gods" were attributes of The Source and powers that people wished to become, or take on attributes from. I also call on Shiva, The Dagda and? others. There are new gods. We create them, situations create them, energy changes create them. Sometimes the names just change or merge due to cultures changing and peoples ideas changing. Nice video. Be well.

- Unfortunately, I've seen the ocean up close few enough times to count with fingers. However? I do believe I rather have a strong pull for the sea. The goddesses represent the shallow seas, the open seas, and deep/abyssal seas each are connected to various animals of the sea. I've probably going to be talking about this in everyone's video response because this seems so applicable to my path. I'm currently worshiping three ocean goddesses not found in mythology and have begun to go so far as slowly construct my own practice around my worship of them. Never thought of using another herb to? prevent them from sticking to each other I have used benzoin when I made this recipe, thanks for the tip =) I made a batch recently and it seems to need a bit of tweeking.I used more of something than I should have I think. Its not bad but its mildly offensive to my nose LOL I grind mine up it lasts longer that way. Great series!

Awww I love him! He really does look like a sweetheart.
