Oregon Walk Now For Autism Speaks 2011 Team Igoenitchu Posted by: TheRealVenna
Video duration: 47 seconds Posting this to show where we got our team name. When Viktor wants to play, to be chased in particular, he will say igoenitchu, which is his best approximation of I'm gonna get you. We're using this for our team name because I thought it was cute and catchy at the same time. Viktor's first time playing in the snow Posted by: TheRealVenna
Video duration: 102 seconds February this year, one of the only days we got snow. Viktor hasn't had an opportunity to play in the snow so I thought I'd give him the chance before it all melted. He was mimicking the part from the movie "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs" when Flint made it rain ice cream and he was running around after all the kids hitting them with balls of ice cream yelling "Snowball!" Viktor's Birthday part 4 of 4 Posted by: TheRealVenna
Video duration: 745 seconds This is dinner and his bed routine. Yes the movie was still playing while he eats. If it isn't playing I can't get him to eat at all so this is the easiest way for us to get anything in him. I hope you enjoyed watching as much as we enjoyed making these movies. He's making progress every day and I'm learning right along with him. Related: four years old, birthday, autism, bed time routine Display Video Comments | Hide Video Comments | Add Comment |

Stimming to music, weird blinking I've not seen before Posted by: TheRealVenna
Video duration: 33 seconds He had a meltdown just as the movie he 'requested' to watch began. I thought it was time to remove the visual stimulus and try just music. It calmed him right down and he hopped in the chair and started stimming. He was blinking his eyes really rapidly which is something I've not seen in him before. And then he noticed the camera... *This was also this past week, I believe Tuesday (Feb 22, 2011)* Related: stimming, odd blinking, autism Display Video Comments | Hide Video Comments | Add Comment |

Thanks Giving 2010, Viktor is just over 3 and a half Posted by: TheRealVenna
Video duration: 59 seconds This is Viktor this past Thanks Giving 2010. He was just over 3 and a half. He is trying to use words, many of them are just an approximation of sound and I don't know if he even understands the meaning behind them or if he's just mimicking. He has actually a larger vocabulary in sign language and primarily that is what he uses to communicate his needs and desires to us. Early signs of autism - stimming; getting upset when intruded upon Posted by: TheRealVenna
Video duration: 145 seconds Notice the focus on the task. I also noticed that he was stimming and when my partner said something, even though Viktor didn't look up, he clearly was unsettled by it as he started swatting the blocks off the box. This is mild compared to what it turned into. We work really hard now on keeping the freak outs to a minimum. New apartment, early signs of autism; stimming and toe walking Posted by: TheRealVenna
Video duration: 152 seconds Viktor is practically 18 months here and we are moving into our current residence. I didn't know it then, but looking back I can see the signs of autism beginning to emerge. Banging the door, odd vocalizations, and he would be found occasionally to walk on his toes. Cute, lovable and affectionate baby, just as they should be! Posted by: TheRealVenna
Video duration: 67 seconds Viktor and me playing Winter 07/08. He's about 10 months old. This was when he started making his famous "squinchy" face. It was the cutest thing and you can see a few little glimpses here. He stopped making the face when he was about two. At this age, he looks like a typical baby boy.
