I'd like to add that it's important to use a high quality flax oil? which will enhance results, also be aware that flaxseed oil is very staining to clothes and its best to either wash them that day or wear those you dont care if they get stained. I've been using flax seed/oil for topical apps since 83 .... Consuming raw hulled sunflower seeds, a great source of omega 6 and protein will help nourish the skin from the inside ....

For long hauls ( kayaked baits ) use a heavy action 8-10' surf rod, open face, several hundred? yards of 100lb braid. For shark use a 8' steel leader with 12/0+ circle hooks wrapped in electric tape. You can drop some cash on these rigs, so do your research, before you spend too much :-) Avet, Abu Garcia, Penn, Shimano are a few good brands. You get what you pay for.

I can't comment on the? authenticity of the recipe. But I can tell you that letting your masala cook in water for sometime rids the masala of the raw taste and that's how you get the cooked flavor that you are used to in most Indian recipes. You add water later to get the consistency you want. Try making it without waiting for the water to evaporate and your dish will taste of the raw powdered masala in a gravy form.

This is far from the authentic bengali mustard fish curry(sorse mach).....the way it was cooked here, it is bound to make it bitter.....the way to do it is to grind the mustard seeds with water and then sieve? the water which is used as the base for the curry...no need to use onion,garlic & tomato......just use green chilli paste, turmeric powder & salt....also the fish needs to be fried a little more than what was shown here i.e. if you want to make it authentic.

@queenshims: i agree with you - this is not at all how bengali cook their fish, let alone a mustard fish recipe (which usually calls for hilsa fish, anyway). @sajjansarkar (and anyone else who's been getting bitter results): your dish can taste bitter if you use too? many mustard seeds or if you do not dry fry them before crushing them. It can also taste bitter if you use too much ground dhaniya - but with this recipe, mustard overkill seems more likely.

Excuse me, U seem to be so enamoured by the cooks that u think they're infallible,I unfortunately dont think(and now I know) so. To pierce ur little bubble, do read some of the other commenters, who have had similar issues or have agreed with what I faced. And who are you to make a judgement based on what "you" think is more likely? Did u spend the time to get the correct? fish, the correct spices and cook it exactly as per the video? If? it was bitter, it was because you either used too many mustard seeds or you burnt them. Allowing these things to happen will definitely result in a strong bitterness. I also think you should be more thoughtful before posting such a thing. Think about it, what's more likely? That this recipe was never tasted by Hetal and Anuja before sharing it and that it's revolting, or that you made it incorrectly? Humility is a virtue! These ladies know how to cook, come on. I would? tell u the reason . Cooking with mustard paste is very common in my place Odisha and it's where this recipe is invented. Mustard paste is never cooked with oil directly.It is either put directly with much water or it should be cooked until it looses oil. Mustard paste is never made brown with oil. It's not like in other Masala curry .Making it dry with oil would no doubt make it bitter.

Regardless of the "authenticity" of this recipe, I think it's inspiring as a new avenue for cooking fish. I'm not from India, I? have only had food in American Indian Food restaurants and they never serve fish recipes so the concept of Indian style seafood is very new to me and I'm glad they made this video even if the preparation method possibly made mustard seeds turn bitter or something. Still Indian style seafood is a cool idea, I have never had it. Thank you.

Bengalis never make fish curry like this....they use ginger paste and "paanch phoron" for fish curry and don't pour all the spices directly to oil, even they use mustard seed paste in to the water? while boiling.Frying of mustard seed paste will lead you to bitter taste. I also love Korean noodles, they are thicker and tasty than most Chinese fast noodle? in package on sale, also , better than all thin rice noodles here. With best red pepper from Korean--felt Korean done better job in cooking , in salad making , cold noodles, and stone hot pot in winter, why? because they making everything very very clean. So for anyone on a low budget: Why not having two or three canned fish during the week and then one fresh fish on the weekend? Fresh fish once a week should be worth spending a few extra bucks.

Hi! Thanks for the video. It was useful. I wasn't sure how to make the fish lie flat. There are non-toxic nonstick pans. The best? ones are ScanPan and Calphalon. They don't use TEFLON, which is the one that can be dangerous if scraped because of the type of polymer that it is. I hope this helps! Again, thanks!! I'm going to try this. It reminds me of my ice fishing days as a little girl in Maine. :) I'm in Texas now....no ice fishing here!

This can happen if there's an air gap or bubbles between the trans and hull. You'll have to take the trans out and clean both surfaces well and then reinstall? making sure not to get bubbles in the sealant. (don't rock it back and forth) Make sure it's not an equipment problem, by holding the trans over the side of the kayak and checking for correct depth reading. It's a pain, but will give you piece of mind when re-installing it! 8-) Let us know how it goes. Thanks for the input!

Thanks for the tip for the southerners! I live in northern Idaho now (just moved from northern MN) and don't have to worry about extreme heat nearly as much as the extreme cold! I do try to keep my kayak out of the direct sun when not in? use, but there are plenty of times when it sits on top of the car for quite awhile in the sun. Just can't be helped sometime I guess!
