I'm thinking it probably wasn't the 4000s that sucked. If it did, you wouldn't see all the videos showing how beautifully it can be played...by people who knew how to set it up properly AND spent time practicing on it. The 4000s is NOT a "flute", "sax", etc. just because it can produce those sounds. It requires? practice just like any other instrument - even if you're a professional with one of the instruments it can emulate.

Audio and video are not always synced. I mentioned a part where audio was a bit in front of the vid. In fact with those sounds, monophonic play and a proper audiosoftware in your computer you will never realize that there are delays, even if they can? be measured. Its millisceconds with software-synthesizers, it´s close to none with midi-hardware. It takes much more data to slow that down.

As far as I know the only AKAI model which doesn't need a computer is the EWI 4000s which has internal sounds and a MIDI port to connect to a synth. The EWI USB is just a controller but communicates only on the USB port. There aren't any synths I know of that can take a USB input from another synth or? controller. If you're looking to get one I'd recommend the 4000s over the USB.

Awful haven't heard the EWI played so badly or demonstrated? so terribly. Forget about it ! Contact Patchman music / EWI for the real deal or better still watch Brecker playing the EWI. Great for performance with right set up, for practice at night all those mad patterns licks & scales we have to get under our fingers as Tenor /Alto players. Not a sub for real horns but in the right hands can be a wonderful composition tool Funk, Brecker Bros covers Best to all serious Musicians out there !!

Mr Sax T just sounds sweet and will make you reconsider whether the benefits of having the sounds on the machine and two more octaves is worth the extra money. I ordered my USB EWI yesterday. 5 octaves is enough for a realistic instrument. 4000 is superior, but money saved will help pay for Sax Brothers + trumpet (?373) if EWI and I get? on.

As a newer fan (started around stacked rubbish/DIM era), I don't think this song and a lot of thier old ones are particularly good, but I? think they all had the potential to be amazing. In other words, if the GazettE were to go back and rerecord their old songs, their current level of talent would make these songs amazing. They have the same engine but the filters on the 950 are a bit steeper plus you can change the sample frequency to your taste.......lower freq for kicks.........higher freq for hi hats and somewhere in between for snares. Personally........I prefer sampling drums into the SP1200.....can't get any? better than that. SP has it's own sound. 950 and SP1200 are the perfect combo for that gritty 12 crunch. Check out Pete Rock's "Sun Won't Come Out". Perfect example of the 950/SP1200 combo

@AlienCommunity.......That's the way hip hop was produced back in the day. Reason 5 is? HOT but as a producer....I use analog gear. You can't get the same feel from software that you'd get from analog gear. Many hip hop producers live and die by this method. Most notably Pete Rock,DJ Premier,Damu the Fudgemunk and Kanye West. Software is easier to use but I don't have to tweak anything to get that RAW hip hop sound. That's just the way it comes out RUGGED and RAW. That's TRUE hip hop.

no only to a usb port if you want an ewi that plugs into an amp you need the ewi 400os which has a? line out for amps and a line out for headphones for practicing and it has a midi in and a midi out jack. Ewi 4000s has a built in synthesizer, but if you want to get it to sound like a sax or trumpet you need to hook it up to a rack synth or a keyboard synth. The Ewi usb is not a stand alone synth module. You need to use the sound software.

People, people..! Remember that? inspiration is a big part of creating music, and your equipment also may affect your inspiration - if you like your equipment you get a better feel to everything..
