Bin laden went to afganistian as early as 1983. he did not fall? out with the saudi royal family unil the 91 gulf war. when he was thrown out of saudi arabia and they revoked his citizenship because he opposed the US troops defending the kingdom from saddams army. bin laden claimed he could feild 60,000 fighters that had been trained in the afghan/soviet war the saudis told him against 4000 iraqi tanks he would be annilialated there is nothing in the koran against using non muslims to fight.

Bin laden viewed both the US and the USSR as equaly evil most US funds were distributed by pakistianis ISI they wanted hekmatyar to win until 94 when the taliban came into being. bin ladin raised money and he also improved the roads in the boarder areas to all weather roads.
