It's that weird, pandering, "oh, aren't they so simple and beautiful" kind of racism. The? idea that people in the Congo were nothing more than stupid tribesmen with bones in their noses. By the forties, this simply wasn't the case. It's not "black people steal" racism, it's more like "let me help you with that because you're genetically simple" racism. hm i see your point. Idk i still don't think 5 is any simpler. It has the complexity just in different ways. The interface is definetely cleaner and much more simple. 4 was probably the most complex civ out of them all. What civ 5 does do better than 4 is emphasize the fun and gets rid of the crap. I mean even with empire happiness i still have a problem making sure my whole? empire is happy. It has its own set of challenges some new some redesigned like you say.

Well, it is a simpler game. But I believe it's totally forgivable for such a huge redesign, considering that it is also a positive huge redesign, which is by itself a rare thing deserving praise. The first Civ wasn't very complex either. You can throw tons of features into a fresh new game, but it's unlikely those features will work well together. Civilization had slowly? built it's complexity from 1 to 4, 5th changed some fundamentals, so they had to make it simple to ensure it works.

See? my favorite was Civ 4 and i say that mainly because its the first one i played in the series. I agree with you that i can't go back to previous titles because of the new innovations of 5. People say they dumbed down civ 5 but i couldnt disagree more. In fact id have to say they upped the strategy more. I actually have to think about what building i put in cities because of maintenance rather than just build whatever i want wherever. Its an awesome game just different.

I'm surprised that there are people disliking civ5. My favourite is 3rd. I didn't like 4th, mainly cuz of spoiled combat. 5th is relatively shallow and still doesn't have good combat, like in 3rd, but its probably the most innovative game in the series since the 1st one and most its innovations are damn good and have huge potential. I can't play 3rd anymore after playing 5th. For me now a good civ game must at least have hexes and social development system resembling? 5th.
