all went well... 15 minute job, as another said. I haven't decided whether to get the lock plug and take the actual key cylinder out as well, or just leave as-is. I did put a dab of heavy grease in the tiny hole left to keep stuff out of there, but in actuality nothing's really likely to get into that little hole... it could be used as a lubing port? on the closed hammer designs like my 642... thanks again. :)

Any recommendation for filling? in? the lock hole? Cosmetic I know but that hole in the side is irritating... Not the key lock hole but the pivot post hole would be open. Remove the plate, file off the stub and reinstall. That fills in the pivot post hole. The key lock and pivot post are still there and everything looks intact and unaltered.

Not exactly. Let me use a loose explanation. Say your ball has 500 units of kinetic energy as it's being thrown up. On it's way up through air resistance, it looses 50 units to air resistance. At the top where it becomes stationary, you now have 450 units of potential, then on the way back down you have more air resistance. so the ball has more energy on the way up than on the way down. Get it? :)?

A constant is present in opposite directions (meaning the factor of air resistance is cancelled out), so that the velocity? going up should be the same as when going down.

sounds very similar to mine! although mine started in pinky finger and spread one by one to other fingers. once it started in my hand i got help. thank u for ur imformative vid. i had this done 2, 4 wks ago now. mine was c5,6,7. my arm pain had been going on for at least 3 yrs before figuring out it was due to my? neck. it happened so slowly & gradually worse & worse til a chiro treatment switched pain from 1 arm to other. wished to comment here incase any other newbies want someone to compare future growth or disability,etc. i kinda had to live & learn myself too! but think im doing excellent so far! except lower back pain still!

Thank you for sharing your experience. I? am 9 days post-op and eventhough I am still very tired and listless, I have no pain left from the initial neck/shoulder/arm pain. The only difficulty I still have, is swallowing and sore throat. And offcourse, the beloved miami j collar! Quite something to get use to and was instructed to wear it for the next 6 weeks.

If you're having this done watch a video of? the actual surgery-it will help prepare you better. I want to say that all doctors are different when it comes to a neck brace. I had a 2 level acdf and I had to wear a miami j collar for 6 weeks 24/7. After that I had to wear the collar for 2 more months while in the car. Every surgery is different. If you don't have bone harvested from your hip you won't have any problems walking.
