America's obesity problem, at its core, is people too stupid to realize the massive quantities of fat/sugar they are comsuming is killing them. It's safe to eat and doesn't hide its calorie content. Which is true, I m from Hungary and there are TONS of obese people. But when I traveled to America I was able to see why everyone? was obese because I went out to restaurants and fesitivals everything is deep fried!! Watch the documentary Forks over Knives. I have been vegetarian for the past two? months and I was skeptical of it being a lover of meats and I can tell you that I haven't felt better in my life. I cried watching this. I too am 37 years old and have? struggled with food addiction. Everthing you said hit home. I have lost and gained anywhere from 25 to 85 lbs over and over again. I can lose weight but as soon as the emotional stuff comes up I want to stuff my problems away with food. It is so soothing for those brief few moments. When I'm done eating I feel like such a failure which cause me to eat again, my only way to feel better. !m.

good on ya for making the emotional/eating connection. I succumbed to Bulimia about two years ago and although i'm at a normal? weight again, i still have to deal with the emotional/relapse crap that goes with bulimia. Its really hard to deal with but it must be even worse if the eating disorder turns to over eating issues. i wish you the best of luck but it seems like you have sorted out your own eating problems and i'm sure there will be many happy years for you in the future because of that.

That's why, yes, diets are nice and all, but TRUST ME, it's way EASIER, healthier, effective, and will make you happier to just eat healthy (you don't have to starve yourself), while doing physical exercise as well. I say don't torture yourself, just eat eggs/chicken/fish/meat, but cooked simply, and have it with some brown rice or buckwheat, and veggies - you can pretty much eat unlimited and use them to cook as well, they help enhance meals! That's why, in my opinion, it is very important to exercise!!! At least low-medium intensity (hikes, sporty-walks, bike rides, chill sports like shooting a bball with a friend or hitting some tennis back and forth, doesn't have to be intense, just get moving and sweating). When you exercise? not only does your mind become healthier and less stressed, your body becomes healthier AND burns more calories, and a healthy and balanced mind and body will inevitable achieve the ideal weight WAY easier.

Thank God I'm off 30% body fat and if you're over 215 pounds, you're obese on the BMI and not overweight. It's scary. You have to exercise and eat right in order to lose weight. The fastest way to lose weight is intermittent fasting. You drink just water and eat nothing for 24 hours. I do 36 hours twice a week on my rest days,? during the week I do 15 to 18 hours then i hit the gym and then I go eat. I be losing 4 pounds a week. I'm not even on Obesity on the BMI anymore.

Obese/overweight people trying to lose weight (not all) doesn't see the results that he/she wants and they give up. People need to realize that losing weight takes time, dedication, and patience. You aren't going to jump in the gym at 300lbs on Monday and be 275 on Friday. That is why most people give up because? they expect too much instead of taking steps to reach a goal. Thats sad and untrue. You should enjoy the foods you love. I didnt have to cut any food I love to eat. You just have to change the way? you eat. I drink, eat pizza, cheesecake, chocolate, anything I want and lost almost 50 pounds. I also exercise. Life is too short to not indulge or enjoy it. Weight Loss surgery should be banned. It is a very costly and dangerous surgery. Surgery does not CURE obesity (what? causes it), it simply FORCES you not to over eat. There are severe restrictions you need to follow after this surgery, and for the rest of your life, severe complications if you don't follow to the letter, so in a way after this surgery you are on a highly restrictive diet! Yes, Gastric Bypass can kill you,? because it gets infected easily and the stomach can burst etc., but that is in rare cases. My mom had gastric bypass surgery over 5 years ago. She weighed 330lbs, and now she weighs 140lbs. The weight almost literally melted off of her. She was at 180 within a year, but something was wrong and she was losing up to 30 lbs a week initially. But she lived and is healthy now. Gastric bypass should be an option for anyone overweight. It changes and saves lives.

@blot1978, that woman was an elderly lady who suffered 3rd degree burns on her legs from that coffee. She only wanted mcdonalds to pay her medical bill but they refused & it went to court. She never asked 4 that much, the judge made that decision & she didn't receive that much. The coffee was 10 degrees hotter than now & the cups were much thinner back then. In the months leading up to that incidents that MD resturant had +500 plus complaints about the coffee being? to hot & did nothing about it.

And "genetic disposition" is very rare, they didn't have it a long time ago, and being at 200 in third garde may be a little more than that.
