5:55 I am confused, and correct me if I'm? wrong, but does that carbon (image from Wikipedia) need to have an H attached to it? Because the two oxygens require a double bond, that would use up all of carbon's four possible bonds...attaching a hydrogen would give it 5 bonds (impossible)..?

lol woooow! nitpick much? i'd understand if his calculations were completely incorrect, but you're seriously going to harp over a term? and actually, a lot of professors use the term "hog" in introductory courses because they just want the students to learn basic, and core concepts. the actual quantitative net charges of molecular bonds is covered in advanced biochemistry courses, not intro.? using the word "hog" just helps students visualize the concept of electronegativity.

Carbon electronegativity: 2.5, Hydrogen electronegativity: 2.2. This isn't a very big difference,? but he makes it seem like carbon and hydrogen have this huge electronegativity difference. C-H bonds are not very polar (hence hydrocarbons are very nonpolar), so neither C nor H really "hogs" the electrons. I know that he probably says this to help, but I don't want inaccurate chemistry to be disseminated!

According to my text, the ATP produced in glycolysis and the citric acid cycle is made by substrate-level phosphorylation - an enzyme transfers a phosphate group from a substrate molecule? directly to ADP forming ATP. Oxidative phosphorylation occurs in stage 3 of cellular respiration, using the energy released by the downhill fall of electrons from NADH and FADH2 to O2 to phosphorylate ADP. I completely understand that this is really confusing stuff if you have to be able to remember all of the details. I've watched these, then Brightstorm's videos plus others, have gone over my class notes, and then returned to Khan Academy and now realize how incredibly helpful Sal's explanations are. But I still had to put the work in myself to be able to? understand it. Watching another video on the ATP synthase motor really helped me grasp the whole concept, too.

This is a great demo. I believe the fast speed setting helps the polish take a 'set' to the finish. Almost 'burning' the the glaze/polish into the surface. I look to purchase a 7424 to help w/ the waxing end of the job. Do you? like Plumb Crazy glaze? Malco product.

A pre-wet sand of 800g would cut down some of the factory paint orange peel, then buffing out would be a huge step up in quality. I use the Makita non-orbital, but adapt smaller pads of 5" to start vs? the 7", then back to 7" for final. Rarely is high speed is used. Blacks on the Caddy look 6" deep when orange peel is removed to zero prior. Black is very difficult. Cheers

You know kids, people didn't have the advantages we have like 5 years ago. Hi, Potassium Permanganate? is not dangerous, per se, but will stain your skin if exposed. I dispose of the waste product by dissolving it in water, and adding sodium metabisulfite to reduce it to manganese 2+ ions (colorless). This I flush down the drain with plenty of water.
