I'm confused. When I monitor the fans in asus suite ii, the reading for "CPU FAN OPT" says "N/A".Why is that exactly? Also, during this overclocking process, when windows boots up, a purple screen shows? for a split second. Then it just continues with the boot process. You're better off waiting for Piledriver if you want to go with an AMD system, the initial testing shown from the new Trinity APUs using a very immature Piledriver CPU core show between a 5% - 15% increase in overall performance. If you have to build now I'd recommend the Phenom II 960t. You're going to get better single threaded performance and unless? you're running linux or BSD, better overall performance. Plus the 960t has the chance of being unlocked into a hexacore :D

I have no doubt that the Intel system would excel in CPU intensive task, thats not what I was referencing in my original post. Calling it a pure Intel system isn't fair, its Intel + Nvidia, give credit where credit is due. Again, I think running more test than? PCMark or 3DMark would give people a more honest impression of these systems and their intended uses. I'm not complaining because AMD lost; I don't care which platform is better; I just want to see test based on real world scenarios.

Depends on what you're doing with it. If you just want one for gaming get the less expensive of the two. It won't give you much of a performance? difference, but for rendering things out and putting the cpu under max load I think the fx 4100 may be better. Look for reviews on both of them just to be sure which you would prefer.

I'd prefer to see this exact same vs test using hyper hd resolutions aka 2560x1440 and 2560x1600. Let's really put these setups to the test. Also 3 gtx 670's will easily put you at and alittle beyond the 1200 buck price range ( depending on the card you select). they're 400 a piece. so. 3 cards with 3 gpus taking up 3 slots vs one card with 2 gpu's taking up one slot & both setups are the same price. Point? ? depends on your needs. More performance taking up more room 7 making more heat?

you say that the 3770k OC was the clear winner? when you didn't OC any other chipset. This testing is crap IMO as even the 2500k stock was kicking ass. If you OC the 2500k which is the cheapest chip on your test it would have killed all the others making the 2500k the clear winner IMO because its cheap and still outperforms all others.

Why doesn't AMD make a new line of CPU's and make the 8150 the weakest in the lineup cuz lets be honest, the Phenom ii series got higher FPS. This is an embarrassment though its cheap. It could be even cheaper but because it's AMD's best they think they can bump it up like $50. IMO i5 2500 is definitely more worth it for $200-$250.?

Not necisarily having 4 fans wont do much for you double thick rad and 2 high rpm and high air flow fans will compete and be if not better than an h100 plus the tubing is MUCH better on the antec :) and you can customize how you want it to run and at what temps...Trust me you wont be let down by it if you get it... i have my 6100 at 4.7 ghz and i? have 1.47 volts in it... only 50c on the cores under full load... thats cold haha
