getzen trumpets are not the beastest trumpets around. i have two of them, a beginner and the 700s eterna II, and they are both amazing trumpets. But, compared to the bach strat., it's not as good. dont get me wrong, they are very outstanding trumpets,? but there are better. and they are very beast to say the least. (didnt mean to rhyme) (fun fact: i live in the town over from where they are made)

Well if you haven't figured out that you have to buzz your lips together, than it might just be you, since you're a beginner ;)> You buzz by forcing your lips together with your grinning muscles and forcing a steady airstream through. Brass instruments are odd, they don't sound good from the get-go like reed instruments(give or take a few squeaks), it takes a lot of practicing with your lip vibration (embouchure). You might have to see a? professional if there's a problem with the horn itself.

Then it's up to you I guess. Haydn originally wrote no cadenza's suggesting he never intended them, but again, who knows. It is? generally accepted to play a cadenza after the 1st movement, but not so often the 3rd. I guess a lot changes in 216 years..

The high note was a "Double C" or also known as a "Super C". It is 3 octaves above "Middle C". For those of you that say "it's just a 'double c'" I'll gladly let you show me how it's done. I understand that to some Trumpet players that a double C isn't to hard to hit? but for the majority of you a G above the staff is just a dream. So please quit acting like you warm up around the Double C. Other than that...kick ass video and I have enjoyed watching it many times!!

What can I say except that these are the most stereotypical responses for a trumpet video on youtube that I have EVER seen. Usually its some 17 year old punk who plays first chair in HS youth symphony who's going to tell the Principal player one of the best orchestras in the world that he is playing High Notes wrong. To get to a? position like this takes more work than doing HS Youth Symphony, or going into a Music Program at State College for Trumpet. This guy worked HARD from a very young age.

To be honest, I don't think this is really a fair assessment of his playing because the recording quality is kinda shitty. He's obviously a great player with great musicianship? (he's the goddamn principle of the lso) but some recording engineer screwed up in recording him and now everyone is bitching. So long story short, stop bitching.

I think they changed the sound because in the scene where he played, the guy talked, then he played again, the guy's voice was a? lot quieter. They probably lowered the volume electronically since he was playing directly at the camera.

Hello, I am a young guy with Big Band Blood. Both great uncles played in the bands from the late 30s to the 40s... Then again in the 80s to their last days in the late 90s and up to 3 or 4 years ago. My grandmother met Harry in '42 or '43, dated a trumpet player in high school that knew Harry. I have? a signed photo of his she gave me! Love this clip, a fun movie with the Andrews Sisters! Harry had total control over the trumpet, a true master!

He does breath there's two ways you can? tell. Watch and listen from 0:25 to 0:31. As he runs out of air the notes sound slightly (and I mean very slightly) pinched. You can also see the stress in his face lol. A typical trumpet players expression when he's hanging on for dear life :) Love this ,and he is an amazing player.

Ok. What...? Kai. I'll admit. He has practiced some, but haydn part 3 is supposed to go much faster. Appearantly he couldn't? play it faster. Same as he speeded up the second part,- probably because he couldn't get the correct tune even though he pulled the easy triggers (that you are not supposed to do because they aren't made to cling with the other tones) Also. 1:20 . It just screws up like spagetti on a fork there. Listen to Tine Thing Helseth's version of part 3. Completely on tune. Always

Everyone is entitled to there opinion. I like both of them, personally. Each have their own style that I like for different reasons. I like how powerfull Wnton's sound is, but i also like how light Tine's sound is. I? think we can both agree though that this concerto is an amazing piece of music.

This piece is a great example of why range is important, but not the most important aspect of trumpet playing. Technique and tone matters so much more than just playing high notes. I'm? pretty sure if the highest note you can play is a C or D, but you can play this with good style and technique, no one will care about your range.
