I? feel the need to point out that the cloud pattern is under "patterns," click the little arrow and choose that if it doesn't appear right away, and also that in the newest version of photoshop the "other dynamics" window is called "transfer".

Also, it might be better to save a full/original size and then export a smaller version: file >? save for web and devices (cmd+opt+shift+S // crt+alt+shift+S) and use the size box towards the bottom to minimise the exported copy.

I didn't notice 64x64 in the video, but that is probably pixels (the dimensions). To minimise your picture: image > image size (cmd+opt+i //? crt+alt+i)

How about downloading the videos? I use a plugin for my browser so I can download the videos and play it with my favorite player; VLC. The plugin uses the direct url for the video on youtube so I get it full speed, vs external site that grabs/converts 'n stuff are slow. Btw I download? sometimes because my HTPC for my TV kinda sucks.

Ok so i have spent about 4 hours creating a black and white logo. I wouldn't say there is a lot of detail, however there are parts i want to keep nice and? sharp, as soon as i import my image from photoshop, and use image trace in illustrator the outcome is a vector, but some of the sharpness has been taken away and i'm left with pieces touching, where before there were gaps, can anyone help me?

Merging two shape layers was possible in previous versions too ... just now it's more simple. All you had to do was to select shape layer with Path selection? tool and copy it to another shape layer. Worked for me every time. Great work on tutorials though. I'm more and more convinced to buy upgrade from CS5 to CS6 Keep up the good work!

Yeah, I've always selected the mask on the source layer, then Ctrl/Cmd+C anc then selected the shape mask on the? destination layer and Ctrl/Cmd+P to paste it. Then I just deleted the other layer to keep it clean. This is MUCH easier!

Either way, the point of the video is to give you a basic idea of what you could do to get the desired effect, it's not a strict set of instructions. As i understand it, ACR 7 is an all new processing engine, same as they used in Lightroom 4, the previous engine in ACR 6.x.x is still since 2010, the new one is 2012. this should make the over all processing better, obviously eaven on achived RAW? files.

Using and seeing Photoshop as a professional application, I just end up wondering: "Is that it???"... "Content aware" still seems too unprecise to be of any practical use (as judged by what we see in this video), the "photo-to-painting"-filter is just eye candy end well... Adding layer styles to groups seems to be a very practical improvement along with the improvements to the Camera Raw filter, but? those two alone do not explain why this is a new version and not just an ordinary update...

Yes if there is a new way to use color or form, then computer will need to be taught that. That is my point, your way of painting can be programmed. Sure it may take lots of time, and might cost more than just commissioning you to make something, but it "can" be done. However the reasoning you use to choose one perspective over another, picking a color scheme ect, can never be fully taught to a computer. Unless computers learn emotions and? some sort of AI ability.

this is my problem the 'style' you speak of it only of one, realism, and as you said computers can only come up with something we know already, so how can a computer know of my style, it? can't. All I'm saying is I think its cool that they can do it for people that don't like to paint and just want to have as nice effect on their photos. Hello guys from IceflowStudios! I have downloaded Photoshop CS6 pre-released version and it's very awesome, it has so epic features like Oil Paint, but the problem is that i cannot open that filter.. It says something about graphic accelerator, it tell me to check performance preferences and enable "Use Graphics processor"? Please, oil paint is my fav. feature and I can't wait to test it!
