Not to go overboard, but I have always thought of this scene as one of the best directed and edited in modern movie history. Roy Hobbs' first MLB at-bat sends a lackluster NY Knights team to a presumptive 5-4 rain-out victory and a team? turns a corner and starts to believe, all brilliantly captured by director Barry Levinson, editors Chris Holmes and Stewart Linder and composer Randy Newman. As another commentator has said, the stuff of goosebumps.
